We took a walk last Sunday morning August 30, 2015 on the Peninsula. That’s Newport Harbour in the background. It was a lovely quiet day for a walk and parking was easy. I think everyone was still at home having breakfast before their day at the beach. Ha ha, we just went for a chocolate croissant at C’est Si Bon. Did I ever tell you that I like the almond croissants better ? That is because I can have more of them when I share. I only get tiny slivers of edge crust when Mum is having a chocolate croissant.
This spot on the Peninsula is on Edgewater, near Island Avenue (Island Avenue being where the Library is). Up a little way is a very nice tree and a lovely grassy spot to watch sail boat races from. Since my pegs became so creaky, I am all about shady grassy spots !
We took a nice walk at Fashion Island in Newport Beach today and Mum lifted me up onto the boxes by the Christmas Tree for my official Christmas Portrait. I wore my jingle bell collar and with a recent bath I think I looked quite smart. I was happy to get down and continue my walk though, it was a little high up there ! Long ago and far away when I was a wee pup just 12 weeks old, I had my picture taken here too.
This year, 2014 was also my cousin Sam’s first Christmas. Here we are together under the tree.
Ahoy Mates ! I do like mucking around boats and the docks and shoreline. This isn’t my dinghy, but I wish I had one like it, only I would choose a lapstrake dinghy with a little electric motor. I don’t think staff can row fast enough to keep up with the ducks and out of the way of the Harbour Patrol !
Winslow has always liked walking and exploring along the bluffs above Crystal Cove. The beach is a preserve so we don’t go down there as we might confuse the sealife. But the cliffs are rad ! Except when we see a rattle snake. But we didn’t see any today.
There are many good smells on the wind.
We went Whiskey Tasting! It was a nice whiskey tasting event hosted by Rex and Penny Antiques in Cannery Village on 31st Street. There were wonderful smells and Winslow showed remarkable restraint in the face of Prosciutto, Salmon and many Cheeses, grilled veggies and many meat based hors d’oeuvres. Winslow did not taste any whiskey, but had many tasty morsels. Cathy enjoyed the Singleton.
Well, we went to Fashion Island in Newport Beach for a walk yesterday. I am one lucky Welsh Springer Spaniel! Here I am at the Jonathan Adler store where they have really cool stuff, and Mom really liked this PEACE foot stool and took my picture by it. The nice girls at Jonathan Adler are very hospitable to pups and I don’t know why Mom told them to stop giving me treats. I still had lots of room for more!
Happy Howlidays to all my friends, furry and biped alike. I have been walking and shopping a lot. Here I am at Rogers Gardens in Newport Beach.
